31.62ct VVS Natural Madeira CITRINE Pear
Product Description
Portuguese-cut Madeira citrine pear from Brazil, 31.62ct, 24.9 x 19.2 x 13.2 mm in size, clarity VVS**, very good luster, no treatment, 7 on the Moh's hardness scale. **After internally flawless (IF), the clarity rating proceeds VVS, VS, SI, I1 to I4 (opaque). Madeira citrine is not really the orange you often see onscreen in color, but rather a reddish amber, as though you were holding a glass of whiskey to the light. They tend to have flashes of both orange and yellow. (In fact, Madeira citrines can occasionally flash pure yellow in the light, which is unusual, as they don't visibly show any yellow.) It is a bit more sophisticated-looking than the yellow golden citrines (which are still knockouts), and is very suitable for men as well as women. Although smoky quartz (which used to be called smoky topaz) is considered by many to be a gentleman's stone, I actually prefer Madeira citrine, which is more colorful than the usual black, brown, or white stones that wind up in men's jewelry, but is still quite conservative.
